Fluid Ink Shapes…

March 23, 2012

Alberto Seveso is a graphic designer and illustrator, however it was his photography which blew me away.
He photographs ink underwater and his results are beautiful, fluid shapes.
He mixes colours and creates some incredible shapes.
I love the way the ink almost looks like ruffles of fabric..

Illustrator Julie Verhoeven has worked for many magazines like Dazed and Confused and has created a series of Christmas cards for Topshop.
She is sought after by many designers and has collaborated with Versace, Mulberry and Louis Vuitton among others, creating prints for garments.
I like the mix of lines and ink in her work and the busy collages she creates..

Michelle Thompson uses collage to create her pieces and has featured in a lot of different publications.
Her work is often based on quite strong themes and sometimes quite serious issues.
I like how some of the pictures have quite a vintage, more innocent look, yet the overall pieces seem to have a more edgy style to them..

Capturing Beauty…

March 3, 2012

Probably the most iconic fashion photographer working at the moment, Mario Testino has worked for a huge range of magazines and publications from Vogue to Vanity Fair.
He is perhaps most famous for his portrait, which he has taken of countless celebrities, always capturing them at their best.
I love how his pictures always exude femininity and beauty..

Julie Vermeille is an illustrator who uses a mixture of ink lines and collage within her work.
Her work seems to have an almost child-like simplicity to it and I think it is this which makes it so creative and appealing.
I love how her work uses textiles features within it, such as lace and thread..
